Nikos Fintikakis, architect, studied at the National Technical University of Athens and post–graduated at the Heriot-Watt University of Edinburgh. He is senior partner and managing Director of “SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH Ltd” G. Albanis-N. Fintikakis and partners Architects - consulting engineers (www.syntres.gr).

He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, of the Association of Greek Architects and of the Greek Consulting firms Association (HELLASCO).

Dr. Celina Filippin

Senior researcher of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research, (CONICET) Argentina. Celina Filippín holds a Degree in Architecture (1987) from the National University of La Plata, Argentina, Magister in Renewable Energy (2000) and a Ph.D in Sciences – Renewable Energy (2005) from the National University of Salta, Argentina.

Aris Τsangrassoulis

Aris Τsangrassoulis is an Associate Professor  at the Dept. of Architecture, University of Thessaly. He has received his Msc  degree and his PhD in Building Physics from the University of Athens. His research activity focuses on daylighting, the development of techniques  for achieving  lighting energy savings, , shading and  the impact of building  design and operation on  thermal/visual comfort  .

Angeliki Mavrigiannaki

Angeliki Mavrigiannaki holds a Diploma in Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens and an MSc in Environmental Design of Buildings from Cardiff University. She is also a LEED Green Associate.

She is currently pursuing a PhD within the School of Environmental Engineering at Technical University of Crete and is also working as research assistant at the EMBER Lab. In the past she has worked for architecture firms in Greece. 

SILVANA FLORES LARSEN

Senior researcher of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research. Professor at National University of Salta, Argentina.

Silvana Flores Larsen has a Degree in Physics (1998) and a Ph.D in Sciences – Renewable Energy (2003) from the National University of Salta, Argentina. She is a senior researcher of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research, and Professor at National University of Salta. Her area of research is related to the energy efficiency in buildings and their thermal computer simulation, and the experimental development of solar equipment. She has published more than 110 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Jonathan Fox

Sessional lecturer in high performance architecture in the Faculty of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia

His PhD research explores the effect of building facades on outdoor microclimate. He has a trans-disciplinary Master of Sustainability degree from the University of Sydney, Australia, a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

He has practiced as a professional architect on commercial and domestic projects in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Hong Kong and London, directing his own practice for over twelve years in Sydney, Australia.

Sofia-Natalia Boemi

Dr. Environmental Engineer Senior Research Assistant- Post-Doc Researcher

Dr. Sofia – Natalia Boemi has a degree from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources Management. She obtained her Doctorate in environmental and energy management in the building sector from the University of Ioannina and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. At the moment she is holding a position as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her research focus on climate change and it impact at the built environment and especially to energy poverty.

Alberto Muscio

University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy

Alberto Muscio is Associate Professor of Thermal Fluids at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He graduated cum laude in Engineering of Materials at Modena and then got a Ph.D in Thermal Fluids from the University of Bologna. He is director of the Energy Efficiency Laboratory (EELab) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, president of the Italian Association for Thermophysical Properties (AIPT).

Dr. Georgios Ayeridis

Director of Energy Efficiency Division in the Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving

He is Director of Energy Efficiency Division in the Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES). From February to September 2012 he was also General Director in charge. He is Mechanical Engineer with Ph.D. degree. He has worked in the field of Renewable Energy Sources and Environmental Protection as a consultant to the private and public sector. For many years he was a surveyor for insurance companies.

Santamouris Mattheos

Professor of Energy Physics

Mat Santamouris is Professor of Energy Physics at the University of Athens and visiting professor at the Metropolitan University of London, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Bolzano University and the Cyprus Institute.

He has a Ph.D. degree from the University of Patras and a DEA from the Ecole Nationale d’ Ingenieurs, Grenoble, France. He is the Director of the Laboratory of Building Energy Research, at the University of Athens.

Olatz Irulegi

Dr. Olatz Irulegi (female) graduated in Architecture at University of the Basque Country (2004). From 2000 to 2002 she studied at Universität Stuttgart (Germany). In 2007 she obtained a Master Degree in Architectural Design at University of Navarra granted by “La Caixa”. In 2009 she obtained a Master Degree in Sustainable Construction and Energy Efficiency at University of the Basque Country. In 2011 she obtained the European Phd Degree (Cum Laude) with the thesis titled: “Energy efficiency of Ventilated Active Façades applied to office buildings in Spain”.

Maria Saliari

Physicist, holding a Master of Environmental Physics from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens

Maria Saliari is a physicist, holding a Master of Environmental Physics from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She has worked as a research associate for NKUA (2007-2011) and for the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources-CRES (2011-2015). She is currently working as a freelance consultant (2007-today).

John A. Paravantis

John A. Paravantis is a tenured Assistant Professor in the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus. He holds a 5-year Civil Engineering diploma from the National Technical University of Athens as well as a M.Sc. in Transportation and a Ph.D. in Energy and Environment both from Northwestern University.

Konstantina Vasilakopoulou

Konstantina Vasilakopoulou is an architect, trained at the Architectural department of the University of Patras.
